Description of problem:
Rotary tables are automation technology components. They enable a circular movement with which parts (or workpieces) can be continuously transported to different stations of a work or process step. In addition to piece goods receivers, automatic machines can also be used, for example to assemble parts, attach labels, fill and close vessels or fold materials. Inspection tasks (e.g. electrical testing, mould testing or visual inspections) can likewise be performed.
Rotary tables are usually driven electromechanically by means of gears or direct drives. Servo or multi-phase motors are typically employed here. The necessary electrical power and the process data must frequently be transmitted to the rotary table, in many cases in combination with a rotary joint for oil or gas.
Description of solution :
The requirements for rotary joints on rotary tables obviously depend on the specific system and thus vary considerably. LTN slip rings enable power and signals to be transmitted. For example, individual stations in a configuration could be connected to a fieldbus. It is often necessary to transfer fieldbus data to the master controller.
If a customised solution is called for (e.g. in the packaging or food industry), our engineers develop a made-to-measure concept that meets all requirements. LTN slip rings can be used to transmit power, data and any type of bus system (e.g. Profibus, Ethernet or Fast Ethernet). A rotary joint for oil or gas is optional.
